Tyres Europe joins cross-sector call for a workable EUDR Information System

May 29, 2026

Tyres Europe has joined a coalition of European industry associations calling on the European Commission to address remaining flaws, gaps and technical constraints in the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) Information System ahead of the Regulation’s application on 30 December 2026.

The Information System is a central element of the EU Deforestation Regulation, supporting traceability and compliance across complex supply chains. However, current limitations — including constraints on Due Diligence Statement aggregation and insufficient functionalities for business users — risk creating unnecessary administrative burden and operational uncertainty.

The coalition calls on the Commission to ensure that the Information System is not only aligned with the legal provisions of the Regulation, but also operationally workable, stress-tested, and adapted to business practice. A reliable and user-friendly system will be essential to support compliance while safeguarding the continued supply of relevant commodities and products to the EU market.
